Your Teacher

The best part of this school year is going to be getting to know each other.  We have plenty of time to do that, but for now, I will answer a few questions that you might have about me.

My name is Shannon Hill.  I live in Rowan County, with my husband Chris, my son, Joey, and my boxer, Booker.  I began working at O.E.S. in January 2003, when a fourth grade teacher had to leave due to a family illness.  I taught 4th grade for 4 1/2 years, but now I teach Technology, since I love computers!

I was born and reared in Breathitt County, but moved to Morehead to finish my teaching degree.  Now, I consider this area my home and would not go back for anything.  Would you believe that when I was a small girl, I lived in a one-room log cabin?  Well, I did!  My family was very poor, so my grandfather built us a home. The roof of the cabin is so short that I have to bend over to stand up inside it now! You'll hear many stories about my childhood this year and what it was like to live in a cabin and visit an outhouse in the middle of the night!

There are many more things that I will tell you about myself as the school year goes on.  I cannot wait to meet each of you and hear all about you!
